MIDDLEFIELD — Council on Aging approves Senior Center building plan with state support. Selectboard member Curt Robie and Architect Steven Jablonski presented improvements funded by a $100,000 state grant, $150,000 in town appropriations, and $90,000 in architectural fees, totaling $990,000. The project, set to begin in June and conclude by September 2026, includes generator installation, electrical service upgrades to 200 amps, emergency lighting, a wheelchair lift, sump pump, new windows, and foundation insulation.

The Department of Agriculture approved the plans at the May 13 meeting attended by approximately 40 community members.
