MIDDLEFIELD — Finance Committee approves prior minutes and discusses Open Meeting Law compliance following a complaint against the body. Chair Brent LeBeau cautioned members that reply-to-all emails constitute a quorum and can trigger complaints if personal views are expressed, urging participants to keep discussions separate from general communications. Town Administrator Evan Kenney confirmed the plow truck is one year behind schedule and should be delivered soon after completion of minor work.
The committee also discussed a proposed software system change for the Assessors office: switching from Tyler Tech's Vadar to Patriot at an estimated cost of $6,000 annually (versus $4,660 currently) plus approximately $8,000 in one-time migration fees. Tax Collector Mary Ann Pease noted that Tyler is reducing product support, making timely action advisable.
