MIDDLEFIELD — Finance Committee reviews Town Hall camera proposal pending scope of work. Chair Brent LeBeau presented a tax impact tool showing a $25,000 camera allocation would result in a 1.67 percent tax rate increase of 28 cents per $1,000 in assessed value, though the spending would draw from Free Cash rather than directly impact the current rate. The committee also received notice that four residents and two municipal officials have been appointed to the newly restructured Capital Planning Committee, which will review town projects exceeding $10,000 with a five-year shelf life.
Town Administrator Evan Kenney reported that department heads will receive budget forms within the week, with FY25 spend available for projections since FY23 and FY24 data are deemed unreliable.
