Town Meeting · Meeting of March 28, 2026

Middlefield Special Town Meeting approves $31,000 in free cash transfers for operations. Thirty-seven voters unanimously backed a $10,000 transfer to fund Patriot Software setup and data conversion for the Assessor's Office and authorized the Selectboard to award a contract for the system lasting up to five years. The town also unanimously transferred $6,000 to cover FY 2025 invoices from Mirabito Oil that had been misplaced by the Highway Department.

In the day's only contested vote, a $15,000 transfer to replenish the depleted FY 2026 Legal Account passed 23 to 10, reflecting disputes over open meeting law complaints and capital project consulting costs. A proposal to transfer $25,000 for town hall surveillance cameras was tabled pending the annual town meeting.
