Middlefield Select Board and Finance Committee advanced four articles for a March 28 Special Town Meeting. Ann Marie Visconti, Select Board Chair, and Finance Committee Chair Brent LaBeau guided review of $15,000 for Town Counsel, $8,000 for Assessor Software conversion, and $6,000 for a prior-year Mirabito Energy bill. A fourth article on Regional Ambulance Agreements was deferred after Town Administrator Evan Kenney said ongoing discussions with fire and police chiefs require additional cost data before presenting a budget figure to residents.
Town Administrator Evan Kenney presented a preliminary FY27 budget proposal, noted to exclude cost-of-living adjustments, for board refinement.
