Select Board approves $25,000 for town hall surveillance system.

Middlefield Select Board and Finance Committee jointly approved five articles for a March 28 Special Town Meeting totaling $56,000 in free cash. The largest allocation, $25,000, funds installation of cameras and a surveillance system at Town Hall, backed by Chair Ann Marie Visconti on police safety grounds but questioned by Finance Committee member Kenneth Murray over capital planning oversight. The boards also approved $10,000 for Assessor's Office software migration, $6,000 for a prior-year oil bill, and $15,000 for the legal account.
If approved, the town will retain approximately $132,000 in free cash for the Annual Town Meeting.
