Middlefield appointed two residents to fill Finance Committee vacancies on Wednesday. Brent LeBeau and David Kendig were selected through a roll call vote after a paper ballot was nullified per legal counsel advice that voting must be public, with LeBeau receiving 6 votes and Kendig receiving 5 votes in competition with candidate Maureen Longobardi, who received 1 vote. The appointments are temporary, running through May 2027.
The Select Board and Finance Committee also voted to support a letter backing the Rural Crossings application for a Federal Highway Administration transportation resilience grant.
