State grant, town funding greenlight $900K Senior Center project

Middlefield greenlights $900,000 Senior Center renovation with Department of Agriculture approval. The Council on Aging presented a $750,000 state-grant-funded project, supplemented by $150,000 in town appropriation and $90,000 in architectural fees. Architect Steven Jablonski detailed upgrades including electrical service expansion to 200 amps, a generator, emergency lighting, approximately 20 new outlets, a wheelchair-accessible lift, and a sump pump for water management.
The Department of Agriculture approved the plans, with construction scheduled for June through September 2026.
